Nokia 8 : Hands On Review First Flagship Phone

Nokia has a comeback in 2017 but not very impressive one until the day the company announced the launch of Nokia 8. With this phone, the first set of products of the company looks complete.

Earlier this year an HMD Global announcement revealed that the company will come up with some products under the brand name of Nokia and thus Nokia 3, Nokia 5 & Nokia 6 arrived in the following months. These were all declared good middle range devices.

Nokia 8 hands on: the first Android Nokia flagship

The Nokia 3315 re-launch was another exciting event of Nokia and now the company is coming up with its flagship Android Smartphone, Nokia 8 and the excitement was obvious.

Here is the complete Nokia 8 review:

Nokia 8: Design & Display

  • The phone is surely the most beautiful phone with a Nokia logo on the back. Nokia 8 has an aluminum unibody design with metal edges. The back of the phone depends on the version you buy and the feel changes accordingly as well.
  • Polished copper & Blue are the glossy ones and appear striking in the first glimpse. Whereas, tempered blue & steel are matt, plain and boring.
  • Nokia 8 is a thin phone with its body reaching 7.9 mm maximum thickness. The curvy edges complete the look and make it comfortable to use.
  • The 5.3-inch screen QHD resolution and LCD panel makes it an easy to view phone, particularly under the blasting sunlight.
  • The antenna bands are visible but they go up with the design perfectly. Placed on the top and the bottom they enable smooth networking.

Nokia 8: Battery & Power

The battery of Nokia 8 is somewhat disappointing as a 3090mAh battery is not sufficient enough to power a QHD screen. Additionally, the liquid cool off the system, that is supposed to keep the phone cooler and thus smoother, consumes more power.

Equipped with best-in-class Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipsetĀ this phone will do whatever you want it to do. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipsetĀ also boost the battery life of the phone. Nokia 8 has 4GB RAM along with 64 GB internal storage option that makes it more powerful. The phone offers expandable memory feature up to 256 GB with microSD support.

Nokia 8: Camera

No doubt, Nokia advertised the camera setup of Nokia 8 because even we accept that it is pretty impressive. It is a dual sensor setup that uses dual 13Megapixel shooters- RGB lens & monochrome shooter. The camera offers sharp and speedily shot photos.

For selfie lovers, Nokia 8 has an equally powerful 13-megapixel front camera. Following the trail of a few advanced app, Nokia has come up with a feature named #Bothie. It is that you can use both (rear & front) camera at the same time. This feature helps you in recording something and showing your reaction at the same time.

Conclusion:

Nokia 8 appears an attractive phone with classic design, QHD display, excellent camera setup and powerful internals.

However, the present market scenario has many attractive phones and amid them, Nokia 8 does not come with anything that is not already available. The price of the phone is on the higher side when compared to other phones offering the same features.
